DAVIDSON ON WALL STREET
Davidson College seeks to assist students interested in finance careers by providing professional exposure and networking opportunities with key employers, influencers, and decision-makers at top firms in the investment banking, asset management, and financial services sectors in New York City. The Davidson on Wall Street program enables sophomore students with a demonstrated career interest in these sectors to gain immersive experiential learning and build a pipeline of connections for future employment. This signature program demonstrates the talent, innovation, and commitment of Davidson College students to key employer partners, empowering long-term recruiting partnerships.
Overview
Beginning in their first year, Davidson students interested in finance careers can attend information sessions, workshops, trainings, and meetings with fellow students and employers to learn more about the financial sector. Opportunities include 20+ employers visiting campus each semester, participating in events such as the fall Employer Info Session Nights and spring Career Scope Business/Tech Career Fair. Additionally, Davidson provides access to multiple Training the Street courses, through both in person workshops and online courses.
The Signature Event: Davidson on Wall Street
During Spring Break of 2024, a group of up to 10 high-potential sophomore students will be invited to participate in a career exploration trek to New York City for a targeted and structured high-impact multi-day externship program under the guidance and supervision of the Matthews Center, in partnership with the Economics department. The Davidson on Wall Street program will empower student participants with the platform to further develop their understanding of the challenges and opportunities in pursuing and attaining a career in top-tier financial institutions and investment banking firms through seminars, meetings and interviews with top executives and key influencers.
Student Eligibility:
Students seeking to participate in this keystone opportunity will engage in the following activities to be eligible:
Participate in a Davidson on Wall Street information session (offered in October & November)
Attend a minimum of two on-campus events related to Finance, either with an employer visiting campus or through one of the business student organizations, DIFA, Pre-Business Society, Women in Business, DCVC, or Davidson Impact Fund (see Handshake events)
Complete at least one Training the Street workshop during fall semester (see Handshake events)
Submit a resume and statement of purpose through the Handshake career portal (due in November)
Complete an interview with the Matthews Center.

Morning: Training the Street - customized training module hosted by CFO
Afternoon: JPMorgan - Host Firm visit. Sit in on Morning Meeting, networking with alums.
Afternoon: Wells Fargo - Host Firm visit. Networking with alums, tour of the Sales & Trading floor.
Evening: Alumni Networking Event – informal networking dinner event with key IB, financial services & asset management alumni
Tuesday:
Morning: BlackRock - Host Firm visit. Morning Meetings, Q&A with alumni
Afternoon: Bank of America - Host Firm visit. Focus on M&A.
Afternoon: East Rock Capital - Host Firm visit. Overview of private equity. Networking lunch.
Evening: Return flight to CLT
