I received the Alvarez grant to renew my F-1 visa as I receive a DRI to travel to the UK. I had to be in Vietnam to renew it as it made the most sense. At the time, the portal showed that my visa were "Refused", I traveled back home, still jet lagged, with my friend who was travelling Vietnam at the time. At 6 am, we hit my hometown beach in a small coastal city of Northern Central Vietnam to beat the crowd. It was the most beautiful sunrise I've ever seen, even though I've seen it a thousand times.

This photo was taken as a storm began developing in the mountain range that surrounds Moray, a place in the Sacred Valley of Peru that was used as agricultural terraces in Incan Society. There was a sense of calm and quiet over the valley, that blended the history of the place with the current moment in time.

The jingle of the bells abruptly stopped as I walked by. When I looked over at the flock, I was startled to see so many faces directed right at me. We stood in silence as the sun rose behind us, observing each other with curiosity. I kept walking, the bells began to jingle again.

I was on a solo trip for art history, looking at St. Ives, Cornwall. I got nervous taking photos and pulling out my clunky film camera, but I eventually got over it and couldn't resist all the colors interacting on this beach. The photo in my head of the icy blue water meeting the dramatic green cliffs is still somehow stronger than anything I managed to capture. Virginia Woolf's lighthouse is beyond this inlet.

Two baby snow monkeys wrestle at Jigokudani Hot Springs in Nagano, Japan. I've wanted to see the hot springs snow monkeys since I learned about them when I was seven. I spent nearly ten hours on trains and buses for two hours with them, and it was absolutely worth it. These two were part of a group of five babies I watched for nearly an hour chase, wrestle, and take snack breaks in the snow.
