Davidic Generation Church (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the DGC Sunday School mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you use our App. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
When users register for or use the App, we collect limited personal information necessary to provide core functionality. This includes the user’s name, email address, and password. Passwords are handled securely and are never stored in plain text.
The App also stores certain content locally on the user’s device to enable offline access. This includes Bible verse references, Bible content, Sunday School manuals, lesson materials, personal notes, and user preferences.
In addition, the App may automatically collect limited technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, and error or crash logs. This information is used strictly to improve app performance and reliability and does not personally identify users.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information collected is used to create and manage user accounts, authenticate users securely, and provide access to Sunday School lessons and study materials. It also enables offline access to Bible content, helps improve app functionality and user experience, and allows us to communicate important updates related to church activities or app content. User data is not used for advertising or marketing purposes.
We process personal information based on user consent provided during registration and app usage, as well as our legitimate interest in providing religious education services and maintaining the functionality of the App.
4. Password Security
User passwords are protected using encryption and hashing methods. We do not store passwords in plain text, and access to user accounts is safeguarded using industry-standard security practices.
The App uses a third-party Bible API to retrieve Bible verses and translations. Bible content is fetched through the API and stored locally on the user’s device to enable offline access. This content is used strictly for religious and educational purposes, and we do not sell, modify, or redistribute Bible content outside the App.
We may also rely on trusted third-party services such as backend hosting providers and internet connectivity services to support the App’s functionality. These third parties only process data necessary to deliver their services and are required to handle user information securely.
6. Data Storage and Offline Access
User account information such as name, email address, and encrypted password is stored securely on our backend servers. Bible references, lesson materials, notes, and preferences may be cached locally on the user’s device for offline use. All local storage is managed using secure storage mechanisms provided by the device operating system.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to operate user accounts, provide access to App features, and comply with legal or administrative requirements. When a user requests account deletion, associated personal data is removed from our systems within a reasonable timeframe unless retention is required by law.
We do not sell, rent, or trade users’ personal information. User data is not shared with advertisers, marketing companies, or data brokers. The App does not use tracking technologies for behavioral advertising or profiling.
The App may send push notifications related to Sunday School lessons, app updates, or church announcements. Users may disable push notifications at any time through their device settings.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect user data, including encrypted data transmission, secure backend storage, and restricted access to sensitive information. While we take reasonable steps to safeguard data, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
The App is intended for religious education and a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without parental or guardian consent. If we become aware that a child has provided personal information without consent, we will take appropriate steps to remove such information from our systems.
12. User Rights and Data Deletion
Users have the right to request access to their personal information, request correction of inaccurate data, and request deletion of their account and personal data. All such requests can be made by contacting us via email.
User data may be stored or processed on servers located outside the user’s country. Where this occurs, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect personal information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page and reflected by an updated “Last Updated” date. Users are encouraged to review this policy periodically.
This Privacy Policy is governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
