Dear Falcon Golf Families,
Summer is here — and it’s the perfect time for our golfers to improve their games!
We’re excited to share some great news: Davenport Schools and the City of Davenport have established a new golf partnership!
What does this mean for your child?
Each week during the summer, West will receive 60 tickets for our current AND future Falcon golfers to use. Each ticket is good for:
One free round of golf, or
Two large buckets of range balls
Tickets are valid weekdays only and can be used at all three Davenport Public Golf Courses (not just Emeis). Golfers should call ahead to schedule a tee time if they wish to play.
How to get tickets:
Pick them up at Friday practices, or
Pick them up at one of our Optimist Club flag nights

Friday Practice (June 28)
Our next summer practice will be this Friday at 10:00 AM at Emeis. We'll be working on putting, chipping, and driving range work. Expect to be there for 1–2 hours.
Golfers may arrive and leave as needed — coaches will be present and available for individual instruction.
Optimist Club Flag Fundraiser – July 3rd & July 7th
Our next Optimist Club fundraiser is coming up soon.
This is our only fundraiser and it’s a critical source of support for the program, covering summer range balls, team gear, and more.
Upcoming Dates:
Thursday, July 3 – Meet at West at 7:00 PM to put out flags
Monday, July 7 – Meet at The Family Restaurant (902 W Kimberly Rd) at 7:00 PM to collect flags
We have 3 routes and 125 flags, and we need more participation — only 3 kids helped last time, and that needs to improve to sustain this fundraiser.
We ask that each golfer help with at least 6 of the 10 nights over the season.
Trucks make the job easier! If you have one and can help transport flags, it’s a big help.
Remaining 2025 Flag Nights:
Memorial Day – May 22 & 27 (completed)
Flag Day – June 13 & 16 (completed)
Fourth of July – July 3 & 7
Labor Day – August 28 & September 2
Veterans Day – November 10 & 12

Booster Club Fair Parking – Sunday, August 3
The Davenport West Booster Club has been a big supporter of our program. Now they need our help.
They’re asking for volunteers for one day only:

As your child looks to improve their golf game for next season, I’ve come across a fantastic opportunity that will allow them to play without breaking the bank.
It’s called Youth on Course, and it provides a chance for your child to pay only $5 per round at participating golf courses. There is a one-time, upfront fee of $30 to get your child registered, and the discount is available at all 3 Davenport courses, as well as many others across the country.

Girls Golf Banquet and Senior Golf outing are now scheduled for Wednesday June 1st.
The Seniors and their guest will start golfing at 3, playing 9 holes.
The banquet starts at 6 in the Emeis Golf Pavilion.

Just a reminder there is a mandatory parent and athlete meeting tomorrow at West starting at 6:00 in the auditorium.
After the meeting I will meet briefly with everyone to go over items for our upcoming season.
Our season starts on Monday March 14th. After meeting with the girls and speaking with the golf courses I am not planning on having practice over break. We will begin practice on Monday March 21st.
Please remind your daughter to get their Falcon pass this week. I currently have 3.

Girls Golf -
The MANDATORY parent player meeting has been moved from March 30th to next Wednesday March 9th starting at 6:00pm. Please make every effort to attend. My plan is to hold a short parent meeting afterwards.
The updated Parent Meeting Google form is on the School Web page on the “Athletics” tab under “Required Athletic Forms” (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kZI9g3Hl4apDEXQnR-SAp8D3pZFkEBoDvLbar_c7cZQ/edit) Every athlete/Parent must either attend the in person meeting or watch this video. All parents will use this form to acknowledge they have completed this requirement. When they come in person, we will have several chrome books available for them to sign in at. Even though this is not on the Falcon Pass, it is a requirement to participate. Please help athletes communicate this with their parents. We will send you updated lists daily. Do not allow athletes to practice without this being done.
