DANCE AUDITION

Students will use the tutorial videos found on the Dance tab to learn a short dance passage PRIOR to the audition dates listed above.  Blue Vibrations Choreographer Ben Schrank will be on site to help facilitate the dance audition process, but will NOT be teaching the dance passage on audition day(s), so it is imperative that students come prepared on the dance material.  Dance auditions will be done  in small groups (not individually).  There will also be time built in on audition day for students to review the dance with their peers before the directors watch the dance auditions.

VOCAL AUDITION

Students will each sing individually for Mr. Reese and Mrs. Schrank for their vocal audition in two parts, as described below.

Part 1: Students will sing  the first verse of  the song My Country tis of Thee on the melody line, ACAPELLA, starting on the pitch designated for each voice part (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, or Bass). Please use the resources found on the Vocal tab for more information and practice tracks.

Part 2: Students will sing 30-45 seconds of any song they choose, acapella.  Pitches will be given if requested by the student.  Please adhere to the 30-45 second guideline, or come very close.  Broadway, show, or pop tunes are most appropriate for this audition setting  but not the only acceptable selections.  Selections do not have to be memorized, sheet music is permitted if needed.
