Questions?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What if I’ve never danced before?

YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE PREVIOUS DANCE EXPERIENCE TO BE IN A SHOW CHOIR!  As long as you can walk and talk at the same time, we can teach you to move for show choir!

What if I’ve never sung before?

YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE PREVIOUS SINGING EXPERIENCE OR VOCAL TRAINING TO BE IN SHOW CHOIR! However, you do need to be enrolled in choir at Central to do show choir.  You will learn all of the basic singing skills (and so much more) in choir!

Can I be in football/basketball/wrestling/other sports and be in show choir?

YES!  Mr. Reese and Mrs. Schrank will work with coaches and students to SHARE time fairly.  Games always come before practices.  Practice times can be shared. PLEASE stay involved as much as possible!

Can I be in choir AND band and/or orchestra?

YES. Absolutely. Being in multiple musical ensembles is possible and makes you an even better musician!  And it's never too late to get started!  If you want to join, we say, GO FOR IT!

If I make one of the show choirs, when do we rehearse and when do we perform?

Generally speaking, rehearsals take place on Monday nights during the fall and on Monday nights and Thursdays after school in the winter. The
Competition/Performance season takes place from January-Early March, with competitions happening on Saturdays during the months of January and February.

How do I get involved with the backstage Crew or the Show Choir Pit Band?

Sign-ups for Crew and Pit will take place in the fall of the 2025-26 school year.  If you are not a singer/dancer, we hope you will consider being involved in the Pit or Crew!  Both Pit and Crew members are VITAL to the success of the show choirs and travel with us to all competitions and performances.  Contact Mr. Keller at the email address above if you have questions about show choir Pit!
