Maddi Winsor
Hi, I'm Maddi, a speech pathologist with over ten years of experience working with children and their families.
Throughout my career I've worked with children with a wide range of communication needs, from toddlers saying their first words through to school-aged children working on literacy, speech, language, fluency and social communication.
I founded DASH Speech Pathology because I wanted the flexibility to provide therapy that is genuinely individualised. Every child learns differently, and I believe therapy should adapt to the child—not the other way around.
I believe children learn best when they feel safe, connected and interested in what they're doing. That's why my sessions are built around play, curiosity and shared experiences rather than simply sitting at a table completing worksheets.
While therapy might look like games, books, craft or imaginative play, every activity is carefully chosen to target communication goals in a meaningful way.
Children are far more likely to practise difficult skills when those skills have a purpose within something they genuinely enjoy.
Every child brings their own strengths, interests and challenges. Rather than following the same program for every family, I aim to understand what motivates each child and build therapy around those strengths.
I value collaboration with parents, teachers and other professionals because communication doesn't happen in isolation. The best outcomes come when everyone is working towards meaningful goals together.
