Identify 7 – 10 courses that interest you, or allow you to explore academic interests.
Make sure to include at least one small class with fewer than 20 students.
Review Academic Advising and the Liberal Arts and Introducing: Academic Departments and Programs modules available on the NSO Canvas site: dartgo.org/nsocanvas.
Complete your Advising Questionnaire (available in DartHub) by September 12.
Review course descriptions in ORC/Catalog on the Registrar’s website: dartgo.org/orc.
Review the Timetable of Class Meetings to see fall courses offered: dartgo.org/timetable.
Review the Course Registration Quick Reference Guide, which provides instructions for using Dartmouth’s registration system: dartgo.org/courseregistration.
Email your faculty advisor to make an appointment if you have not already heard from them by September 10.
Beginning on September 9, make sure to confirm your scores and placements in DartWorks Degree Audit in DartHub to determine placement and your Writing requirement schedule.
If you're scheduled for WRIT 5 in Fall, select at least three options that interest you.
Attend required Group Advising session with your residence hall floor.
Attend required Bridging Cultures: Your Guide to the Language Requirement session.
If relevant, attend:
Getting Started in Math, Engineering, and the Sciences to learn about course sequencing and managing prerequisites.
Pre-Health at Dartmouth: What You Need To Know for pre-health essentials.
Explore Off-Campus Programs to learn how study abroad works at Dartmouth.
Attend as many Academic Department and Program Open Houses as possible!
Meet with your Faculty Advisor at the time you’ve arranged. Bring your copy of EXPLORE, ENGAGE, EXCEL with you for this meeting!
Visit the Undergraduate Deans Office for further advising support.
If relevant, attend Pre-Health D-Plan Advising: Fall Term Course Election.
If needed, attend the Office of the Registrar's extended office hours.
Register your courses before 6:00 P.M.
View courses you’ve been placed into after 8:00 P.M.
“Course Changes” are available starting at 8:00 A.M. for First-Year and Transfer students only.
