The Dartmouth Sleep Project aims to address the pressing need for improved sleep among Dartmouth students.
Our initiative stems from a comprehensive analysis of data and testimonials, revealing a significant gap in resources and support for healthy sleep habits. In a time where prioritizing mental health is paramount, the project seeks to provide essential tools and interventions to enhance students' well-being.
Recognizing the challenges posed by group and dorm living, which may not always be conducive to optimal sleep environments, our mission is to empower students with the knowledge and resources necessary to prioritize their sleep and overall wellness.
We are thrilled to share that our first initiative to provide sleep wellness bags received funding from Dartmouth Student Government. In early 24S, we plan to distribute 1500 bags with earplugs, eye masks, and stickers to students through housing community leaders.
Founded by DSG Mental Health Committee and South House Senator Ian McKenna, Ian says he looks to expand the project to partner and engage with more health-focused groups like the SWC to best serve the diverse sleep needs of Dartmouth students.
