FRIDAY NIGHT ROCK takes over the Collis stage a little earlier than usual for your Green Key Friday afternoon enjoyment, featuring FREE Kona Ice and a FREE Cookout, with live performances from:
TELESCREENS (5:45pm)
Coming to Dartmouth fresh off a tour opening for Franz Ferdinand, Telescreens brings their muscular riffs and catchy melodies honed in Manhattan and Brooklyn's surviving clubs. Formed in late 2016, this alternative band features vocalist/guitarist Jackson Hamm, keyboardist Josiah Valerius, bassist/keyboardist Austin Brenner, and drummer Oliver Graf. Their breakthrough release "Stare Wide" includes fan favorites "Phone Booth," "Games," and "Lost," which have elevated their position in the local live music scene.
Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of influences including The Beatles, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, and Nirvana, alongside modern artists like Frank Ocean and Kendrick Lamar, Telescreens masterfully combines traditional rock and folk songwriting with contemporary production. While clearly influenced by the New York City alt-rock explosion of the early 21st century, the band represents a fresh generation of alternative sound that continues to climb up the indie music hierarchy.
ANXIOUS (4:45pm)
Connecticut-based quintet Anxious has rapidly emerged as one of the most exciting acts in today's alternative rock scene, winning over fans and critics alike with their authentic blend of Northeast hardcore, emo, and melodic '90s-inspired rock. The band—featuring the dual vocal talents of Grady Allen and Dante Melucci, alongside the powerful rhythm section of drummer Jonny Camner, bassist Sam Allen, and guitarist Tommy Harte—has spent the last two years touring extensively across the United States and Asia, building a devoted following through their energetic performances and emotional depth.
Drawing inspiration from diverse influences ranging from The Smashing Pumpkins and Beach Boys to Animal Collective, Anxious creates music that resonates deeply with the college experience—navigating relationships, questioning established norms, and finding your identity amidst constant change. After collaborating with acclaimed producer Brett Romnes (Oso Oso, The Movielife, Front Bottoms), the band continues to evolve their sound while maintaining the raw honesty and vulnerability that first connected them with audiences. Perfect for fans of both classic alternative and contemporary emo, Anxious delivers powerhouse drumming, intricate guitar work, and anthemic choruses that speak directly to the exhilarating uncertainties of early adulthood.
