The Winter Carnival Council and Collis Center for Student Involvement sponsor an ice sculpture contest during Winter Carnival. This is a great opportunity for students to try out a new skill with support and guidance from a master ice sculptor. See some past student creations below the registration form at the bottom of the page!
Any team, organization, department, or group of friends can register to build a sculpture for the Ice Sculpting Contest. This year, our contest is limited to 20 teams.
Each group will be competing for a set of prizes including a $200 cash grand prize!
A contest held on the lawns of Collis, Robinson, and McNutt to select the best ice sculpture representing this year's Carnival theme.
Friday, February 7th at 4pm-9pm and Saturday, February 8th at 9am-3:30pm.
In order to participate in this contest, all sculptures must be built at the designated stations. Ice blocks and tools will be provided for your team to borrow.
Sign up on the form here and also below!
Each team is required to send a representative during the required training with professional ice sculptors. Once your team is confirmed, Winter Carnival Council will email you the details.
Designs should adhere to the winter carnival theme. This year's Winter Carnival theme is Jurassic Parka: A Carnival Before Time.
Each team gets to have a professional sculptor make major cuts on the sculpture (to the team’s specifications) before carving the rest by hand!
