Virtual Work Experience

With the Covid-19 Pandemic of 2020-21 work experience in the real world has become increasingly difficult to find. Schools, students and employers are understandably nervous and with several workplaces remaing closed, work experience just would not work.

Fortuntately, several employers have developed digital work experience opportunities for young people to take part in so that they can get the relevant opportunities in the workplace. A recent survey showed that two thirds of employers would like candidates to have some relevenat work experience so that they are busniess aware and prepared for work.

With virtual work experience it can give a young person the opportunity to try more than one career and therefore help them with their future opportunities. With the recent pandemic, there may be students who have some spare time on their timetables due to a dropped subject. This time could be used to take up one or two virtual work experience opportunities. Some students may also wish to enhance their C.V. and complete some relevant work experience to help support an application to college, apprenticeship or university.
