Movie Trailer - Use iMovie, Animoto, or another program to create a movie trailer about the book.
Novel Engineering - Identify 3 different problems and come up with your own solutions. You will design one of the solutions. You can make/build something and incorporate technology and/or robotics. Visit the Novel Engineering website for more information and examples.
Book Talk - Give a summary overview of the book in a book talk. Like the movie trailer, this would make others interested in reading the book without giving away too much of the plot. You may use Chatterpix, Tellagami, or another app.
Reenactment - Select an exciting, funny, or important scene from your book. Rewrite the scene in a script format and perform the skit. Be sure to make a video of your performance.
Artistic Compare and Contrast - Choose the setting or a character from your book. Write a paragraph where you compare and contrast the setting or the character to the setting or character from another book or yourself. Create a neat and detailed drawing or painting of each setting or character to go with your writing.
Wordless Book Narrative - Choose a wordless picture book. We have a whole section of wordless books in the media center! Use your imagination and write the story to go along with the pictures.
3D Model - Make a 3-dimensional model of an object that represents a key element, theme, or idea in the book.
Expressive Oral Reading - Choose a passage of text to read aloud. Use vivid expression, characterizations, and sound effects to bring the scene to life.
Illustrated Dictionary - Choose 10 important or interesting vocabulary words from the book to define and illustrate. You may create a paper or digital dictionary.
Research Project - Choose a topic from your reading to research. Use two additional, reliable resources and create a research project on your findings. A variety of formats will be accepted.
Author Study - Create a biography on the author of your book. Many formats will be accepted such as an essay, Biocube, poster, Google Site, or Google Slide presentation.
Song Writing - Write a song that tells about a part of your book or provides a summary of the whole book. Use actual instruments or instruments on a computer to help perform your song. You will need to turn in your lyrics as well as a recording of your song.
