About Me

About Me

My name is Chelsea McFadden and I am the math interventionist, I teach Introduction to Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. I am also the cheerleading coach. This is my 11th year as an educator. I am excited to be teaching here at Lamar High School, and I look forward to wonderful school year.

I graduated in 2008 from Wilson High School of Florence, SC. Afterwards, I attended Francis Marion University and graduated in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education and special concentrations in the areas of mathematics and social studies. A few years later, in 2015, I returned to FMU and later graduated in 2016 with a Masters of Education in Learning Disabilities. In August of 2020, I completed the Master of Art, School Administration Certificate program at Gardner-Webb University.

My support system is very important to me because I know I would not make it without them. I come from a large family. A few of the key people in my family include my grandparents, parents, four brothers (two biological and two very close family friends), four first-cousins, and a host of nieces and nephews. I also have several people whom I met at different stages of my life that I consider close friends. There are four young ladies and one male who I met in middle school that I refer to as my childhood best friends. Then, there are my college best friends whom I met while addending FMU. When I started teaching in DCSD, I also met more amazing people whom I refer to as my career friends. As a whole, these individuals make up my support system.
