January 5-23: Application window opens
January 23: Application window closes at 4:30pm
January 30: Magnet packets due from counselors; academic information due from out of district students
March 13: Magnet notification EMAILS sent out
March 20: Deadline to request a magnet appeal

March 23-27: Magnet appeals & interviews period
March 27: Montessori online lottery
April 3: Online Magnet Lottery & Final notifications emailed
April 3: Deadline to confirm Montessori slot
April 10: Deadline to confirm magnet slot
July 1: Stay put deadline

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Click on the 'apply online' button at the top of the page.
If your child attends a school in DCSD, you may sign in using your email address and password used for school registration.

If your child attends school out of district, you will need to create an account to login.

You are allowed to save your information by selecting your initials in top right of the online application. Once you submit your application, you may print the application for your records.

Please note: You must complete all sections of the application in order to submit. You will receive a confirmation email if you have submitted successfully.

The Innovative Programs Online Magnet Application for 2026-2027 contains applications for the following:

1. Montessori Magnet Program at Bay Road Elementary School (3K-5th)

Enrollment for the Montessori Program for the 2026-27 school year is only open to 3K.
4K-5th grade enrollment is full and all new applicants for those grade levels will be placed on a waiting list. If your child was placed on a waiting list prior to this new application period, there has not been any movement for this current school year and you will need to complete a NEW application for the 2026-2027 school year.
Also, in the application, Montessori applicants DO NOT need to send or upload any documentation.
- If you are asked to upload any documents, you are completing the wrong application.
- If accepted in the Montessori Program, the program may request documents during registration in the summer.
All Montessori applicants must be zoned for a Hartsville school.

3. Darlington High School Early College Honors Program (9th-12th)

4. Hartsville High School International Baccalaureate Magnet Programme (9th-12th)

5. Lamar High School Institute of Biomedical Innovation (rising 9th ONLY)

6. Mayo High School for Math, Science, & Technology (9th-12th)

Magnet School Sites

Students zoned for Brockington Elementary, Darlington Middle, and Hartsville Middle who wish to participate in the school's immersion programs should check the school’s website or call the school for the specific information.

Students zoned for Thornwell School of the Arts will NOT be required to apply.

If a parent should want his/her child to attend any school in the district that is outside of his/her assigned zone, the parent will need to make that request through the Expanded Choice option in February.
