DCSD Grading Policy:
There is a uniformed grading policy across the district of which students will receive equal opportunities at success.
Grade Weights:
A:100-90
B:89-80
C:79-70
D: 69-60
F: 59-0
Mastery Checks ……………….25%
Assessments/Tests……... 35%
Class Performance ……. 40%
MRS. MK's EXPECTATIONS
All assignments/test/projects/ect. will be graded and updated in PowerSchool within 5 active school days of grading.
Assignments should be turned in on time.
Missing assignments are entered as “0” until completed and must be completed within the "Makeup Policy" found below.
There is a penalty of minus 5 to 10 points for late assignments.
MAKEUP POLICY
When Absent:
Upon returning to school, students have 5 SCHOOL DAYS to complete any missed assignments due to an absence.
Previously assigned work should be turned in when the student returns to school.
Notes/Daily Assignments will be in Schoology's dated folders.
Failure to return work within the 5 school days following students’ return date, will result in a zero with a penalty of -5 to -10 points for being late.
If a student has 5 sporadic or 3 consecutive, or patterned absences, the attendance clerk will be notified.
When the Assignment is Completed, but FAILED:
Mrs. MK’s “POWER of I” Statement:
Per quarter, any assignments graded as a Mastery Check or Assessment/Test can be reassessed, upon students' reteach with small group
Retest must be completed within 5 days after reteach of the failed material with grade (0-69%)
Retest requires a reteach.
The two acquired grades will be averaged, for a final recorded grade, not to exceed 80%
