This catalog contains a comprehensive program of study with a vast and varied selection of courses. The courses offered at Darien High School provide an array of possibilities for building a curriculum that is rich with theory as well as practical application. As you select your courses for the upcoming academic year please be cognizant of your interests, future plans, graduation requirements, and prerequisites. Make sure to discuss your goals and aspirations with your parents, teachers, and school counselor who will guide you in building a program of study that will help you achieve those goals.
Darien High School prides itself on its ability to provide an environment where students are encouraged to be reflective thinkers while striving for excellence. 1/21 - Math Transition Evening 7PM 8th-9th Grade (virtual)
1/23 Friday -8:30 am: “Coaching your Kids through Course Selection” (FKA - ELECTIVES EXPO) for parents of current 9th, 10th, 11th grade students - DHS Auditorium

1st DHS Course Selection Lesson in Advisory (Kickoff to Course Selection and Electives Video)
MMS FLEX Lesson - Electives Video and reminder to come prepared to enter elective choices
7:00pm: CLASS OF 2030 CURRICULUM NIGHT (for 8th grade parents) in person DHS Auditorium (6:00 pm student lead tours, break out sessions to follow presentation) (Snow Date -February 4th)
2/2 - Portal opens for MMS students/families
2/3, 2/4 and 2/5 -- 8th grade course selection for electives in Social Studies
2/5 - Portal opens for DHS students
2/11 - 2nd Advisory Lesson - Course Selection in Aspen

2/24 - 3/20 - DHS Counselors meet with individual students
3/13 - MMS Deadline: Waiver (electronic) and level down/change world language
3/20 - DHS Waiver (paper) Deadline
3/27 - 8th grade visit to DHS
