Updated May 11, 2023
On May 11, 2023 the Governor's emergency declaration for Covid-19 ended. Bringing the state of Illinois out of the pandemic response to Covid-19. This means there are no longer any requirements/protocols for isolation or quarantine for anyone who tests positive for COVID-19. This holds true for all staff and students.
Despite the ending of the Covid-19 protocols, Covid-19 is still around, as are any number of other illnesses. If your child is sick, they should stay home for at least 24 hours after experiencing symptoms of a fever over 100°, diarrhea, vomiting, or at the recommendation of a doctor. Basically, Covid-19 will now be treated like other illnesses out there; keep your child home if they are sick, and send them back to school when they are able, or at the recommendation of a doctor.
