Rainbow Jet Bird

Imagine a new discovery of a colorful bird in the Brazilian jungle.

Morphing of basic geometric in Circuit Design Space software, with a metallic and starburst color scheme using archival ink pens on 65 lb. black cardstock. 

The software then sent the drawing file to a Cricut Explore Air 2.  I manually control the start/stop sequences for changes of pen colors, but in this case, there is only one outline color (Silver).

Gelly Roll Starburst Aquagreen pen, and Gelly Roll silver, gold, dark pink, and light green metallic ink pens.

The machine only draws the outlines of the various bird parts; I filled the shapes with archival ink pens 100% by hand. 

First the pens, then the sketch, and then the final drawing.

Detached Black-legged Golden Horse

Taking artistic liberties to show an excited horse that loses track of its limbs. 

Morphing of basic geometric in Circuit Design Space software, with a gold, black, and silver color scheme using archival ink pens on 65 lb. light green cardstock. 

The software then sent the drawing file to a Cricut Explore Air 2.  I manually control the start/stop sequences for changes of pen colors, but in this case there is only one outline color (Brown).

Zebra brush pen, Uniball 207 ink pens, and a gelly roll silver metallic ink pen.

The machine only draws the outlines of the various horse parts; I filled the shapes with archival ink pens 100% by hand.

Celebrate the The United States Olympic Athletes 

OK, it's a few months late, but the sketch was at least done in July.

Morphing of basic geometric in Circuit Design Space software, with a red, white, and blue color scheme using archival ink pens on 130 lb. cardstock. 

The software then sent the drawing file to a Cricut Explore Air 2.  I manually control the start/stop sequences for changes of pen colors, but in this case there is only one outline color (Blue).

The machine only draws the outlines of the various snake parts; I filled the shapes with archival ink pens 100% by hand.

Black Horse with Yellow Tail on White cardstock

I designed this stylized horse from a blank digital canvas and basic geometric shapes along with morphing and combining tools in Circuit Design Space software.

I drew "Black Horse with Yellow Tail on White cardstock" using archival ink pens on 130 lb cardstock. 

The software then sent the drawing file to a Cricut Explore Air 2.  I manually control the start/stop sequences for changes of pen colors, but in this case there is only one outline color (Black).

The machine only draws the outlines of the various Horse limbs; I filled the shapes with archival ink pens 100% by hand.

Gray Snake with Blue Diamondbacks on Pink cardstock

I designed this stylized snake from a blank digital canvas and basic geometric shapes along with morphing and combining tools in Circuit Design Space software.

Pen Draws in Cricut Design Space

I finished creating both a generic rattlesnake design and diamondback version, both in Cricut Design Space software. The Cricut pen draw will all be one color since the skin design is a complete subset of the snake's outer body shape.

I order for a weld operation to work, the shapes must be touching. Weld groups have fewer pen spot drop-down points relative to United groups and provide a more uniform trace.

In order to drag select a long series of shapes that are in the interior of a larger outer shape, first make the larger shape invisible in the layers panels by clicking the eyeball icon. otherwise, the larger shape will be included in the drag select.

In order to switch between Cut and Draw, or to set a new pen color, one must UNattach the objects first, and then re-select all.
