We wanted to create a planet-friendly community garden that encourages environmental sustainability and agriculture practices within our school district and community.
"I just wanted to let you know that we will not be returning to the community garden this year. But for good reason. We loved it so much that we have decided to purchase two raised beds so that we can garden from home. Thank you so much for the wonderful opportunity and for the introduction to gardening. Without the community garden project, I never would have taken the jump to gardening at home. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful experience."

The Danville School Community Garden was created in 2023 as a part of the broader Danville School Community Park Project by students at Danville Area High School in conjunction with the DHS PLANET Club, National Honor Society, and Future Farmers of America. The garden is run by high school students in the DHS PLANET Club who are passionate about creating a green space in our community and promoting sustainability.
Located right behind the Danville Middle School (252 Northumberland St, Danville, PA 17821) and near the intersection of Routes 11 and 54, the garden is in a central area of the community. It is only a short distance from downtown Danville and local neighborhoods, making it easily accessible by many members of the community.
