This year's summer reading books were selected through the Massachusetts Teen Book Awards, the MCBA Booklist, and additional selections that fit into the category of texts with diverse characters.
SORA -
Students log in with the same username/password used to get on their chromebooks but not their email address (Ex: ASmith29 -first initial, last name, graduation year); SORA offers eBooks & audiobooks for students. Students may sync SORA materials to Kindle and other eReading devices.
**SORA is available for all current students at HRMS; rising 6th graders may not have access yet**
Students may search the catalog and can pick up copies of summer reading at the PIL directly. The PIL also has audiobooks and eBooks for students to borrow provided there is an active library card on file. Library cards are free of charge and are available to any student 13+ or with a parent. Librarians at the circulation desk can help with getting a library card.
The booklist is curated on Amazon.
Barnes & Noble, Frugal Bookstore, and The Bookshop of Beverly Farms may have copies of these texts as well.
Students 13+ can also access free audiobooks via AudioFile Magazine
Once you've read your chosen book, please complete the Google Form so your teachers will know what you read over the summer.
