Middle School Resources
Welcome!
This is a page for parents and students at Dansville Middle School to access social/emotional learning remotely. This page includes information on coping skills, mindfulness, and local mental health resources. It is full of videos and activities for students. While we hope to see you all soon, we wanted to share these resources in the meantime.
Stay safe and well, Ms. Lloyd & Dr. McKee
What is a coping skill?
A coping skill is an action we take to help us calm down and refocus our thoughts when stressed, overwhelmed, scared, or experiencing other strong emotions. Coping skills work by distracting our thoughts and brain. Everyone has different coping skills. Some examples of common coping skills are going for a walk, journaling, deep breathing, exercising, talking to a family member or friend, drawing, listening to music, yoga, etc. During trying times like this, it is more important than ever to start developing and using coping skills to help build our mental health resiliency.
