Daniel Rainey is a Principal in Holistic Solutions, Inc. (HSI), and a senior practitioner, educator, and writer in the fields of conflict engagement, online dispute resolution (ODR), and mediation. He has served as a mediator, facilitator, and consultant across labor-management, workplace, community, and international contexts.

My practice is informed by a multidisciplinary perspective, combining conflict resolution, executive coaching and organisational practice with insights from applied psychology and neuroscience. Across my work, I integrate a collaborative and mediation mindset, supporting leaders and teams in addressing difficult conversations, valuing difference and strengthening collective responsibility.

He has conducted research for 49 years, in Australia, USA, France, Netherlands, Israel, Scotland, Spain, Poland and Estonia. In 1996, his Split-Up system, which used machine learning to predict the distribution of marital property following divorce, received international recognition when it was applied to the Divorce of Prince Charles and Lady Di. The London Daily Telegraph, in a front page article on July 4 1996, had as its headline 'Aussie Computer kind to Lady Di'.
