AI Augmented F2F Mediation

This workshop focuses on AI-augmented mediation, where a human mediator conducts a face-to-face process supported by AI tools used before, during, or after sessions. The emphasis is on human–AI collaboration in mediation practice, rather than on automated or fully online dispute resolution systems.

Ana Maria Maia Goncalves is a visiting professor at the Catholic University of Porto School of Law, where she coordinates negotiation and mediation programs, and co-founder of ICFML (Instituto de Certificação e Formação de Mediadores Lusófonos).
Ana has over 35 years of experience as a business leader in global organizations, educator, mediator, and executive coach. She holds an Engineering degree from France, a Master’s in Law from Portugal, and an Executive Certificate in Positive Psychology Coaching from UTC Sydney. She is a Master Certified Coach (MCC) accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF)
Francisco Andrade is Associate Professor at the School of Law, University of Minho
Ph.D. in Law, Private Law, from the University of Minho.MSc in Electronic Information Management from the Department of Information Studies at the University of Sheffield (United Kingdom). Bachelor of Laws and Postgraduate Degree in Communication Law from the University of Coimbra. Director of the master’s Program in Law and Computer Science at the School of Law, University of Minho (from 2011 to 2025). Member of IAAIL – International Association for Artificial Intelligence and Law; Elected to the IAAIL Executive Committee for the 2024–2026 term. Full member of JUSGOV – Center for Research on Justice and Governance at the UM School of Law. Author of numerous national and international publications, particularly on topics at the intersection of Law and Computer Science. Participation as a speaker and member of the Program Committee for various international conferences, notably the “ICAIL – International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Law” and “JURIX – Annual Conference on Legal Knowledge and Information Systems”
Daniel Rainey is a Principal in Holistic Solutions, Inc. (HSI), and a senior practitioner, educator, and writer in the fields of conflict engagement, online dispute resolution (ODR), and mediation. He has served as a mediator, facilitator, and consultant across labor-management, workplace, community, and international contexts.
