Core Purpose
To support the School Network Administrator in delivering effective, reliable, and secure IT services across the school, ensuring that the staff and students are able to make full use of technology to support teaching, learning, and administration.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Support web-based software applications, collaboration tools and mail systems
Diagnose and repair hardware and software faults on end user devices
Support and maintain printers, scanners, audio visual solutions, phone solutions and peripherals
Manage user credentials and access permissions across all platforms including the school MIS
Install, update and support software applications
Install, update and monitor anti-virus and endpoint security solutions
Assist users with wireless network connectivity, monitor wireless devices, and support the installation of new wireless access points
Support the school's cashless catering systems
Maintain accurate IT asset records, including the deployment, replacement, relocation and disposal of equipment
Monitoring and proactively manage, where appropriate of web content filtering systems, internal networking infrastructure, broadband usage and server infrastructure
Keep up to date with relevant technological developments and recommend improvements to IT services and support provision
Create, maintain and distribute technical documentation and user guides for staff, students, and members of the IT team
Deliver informal and formal IT training sessions to staff where required
Assist the Network Administrator in:
Managing devices through Group Policy and other centralised management tools
Maintaining backup and recovery processes, ensuring the security, integrity and confidentiality of school data at all times
Ensuring staff comply with the school's IT, cybersecurity, and GDPR policies
Carrying out designated responsibilities during the Network Administrator's absence
General
Keep up to date with, and adhere to, all school and Danes Educational Trust ("the Trust") policies and procedures
Participate in professional development activities and training as requested
Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade and responsibilities of the post, as requested by senior management
Provide IT support to other schools within Danes Educational Trust when required, including occasional travel between sites
