FOR ALL SHOWS!!!...
When you arrive to the venue, you'll find DX staff members at a check in table who will give you a wristband and direct you to your dancer's designated room. From there you can go back to the lobby and enter the auditorium and enjoy the show! Parents are not allowed backstage or in the dressing rooms.
After the show, head back towards that same hallway (only those with wristbands are allowed back) and collect your dancer. Please have your other family and friends wait in the lobby/outside to keep the hallways clear.
PARENTS PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR DANCER HAS ALL their belongings WITH THEM WHEN THEY ARE DROPPED OFF AT THEIR ROOM. Please do not give your child anything but water for backstage. MANY CHILDREN HAVE SEVERE ALLERGIES plus we don't want to stain tights/shirt.
Parents and friends are NOT allowed to go to the dressing rooms at any point during the show. Please protect our dancers' privacy.
After the show, staff will take the little ones from the stage to their designated classroom. The same person who signed your little dancer in at drop off must sign the little dancer out. DON’T FORGET YOUR WRISTBAND! Whoever is wearing the wristband is the person who is dropping the dancer off and picking the dancer up after the show. You will not be able to collect your dancer without a wristband. This is for security purposes.
ALL DANCERS MUST STAY BACKSTAGE WITH THE STAFF!!! Dancers are not allowed to go into the auditorium to watch the other dances in the same showcase they're performing in. We like to keep the showcase a surprise and have an element of professionalism.
At the Holiday Showcase you will be given a wristband when you drop your dancer off in their designated classroom. One wristband per family. Who ever is wearing this wristband is the ONLY person allowed to drop off and pick up their dancer. This aides us in knowing that your dancer is safe and cuts back on the time it takes picking up your dancer at the end of the show. Only the person with the wristband is allowed backstage. Please have your friends/family members wait in the lobby or outside to clear hallways.
Little dancers will be assigned to a special area. Each room will have 1 to 2 helpers. These helpers will assist the students in changing shoes.
HOLIDAY SHOWCASE DOS AND DON’TS
DO…wear lots of make up! You may feel you look silly with all the blush, red lipstick, and heavy eye make up but you’ll look beautiful on stage! Stage lighting will make you look white as a ghost and your pretty face will not be seen. This is called stage make up so the lights will enhance your features…not hide them!
DO…double check you have everything before you leave your house. You don’t want to have to drive all the way back home because you left your child’s tights and shoes at home!
DO…put student’s name on tags of all belongings.
DO… prepare your things needed and shoes the night before.
DON’T…paint your child’s nails. We try to have a uniform appearance on stage. Please no colored nail polish.
DON’T…let your child wear jewelry. We do not want it to get lost and we are trying to keep a neat, uniform appearance on stage. Students are allowed to wear tiny stud earrings however.
