GETTING READY ON RECITAL DAY!
As parents we are all so excited for our kids on recital day! It is a very special occasion that we can't help but hype up. That being said, it is important to limit the 'build-up' as it can make kids nervous about the event. It's best to stick to the facts: where you are going, what you are doing, what we have practiced. This will let the dancers feel that they are 'in-control' of the day and that they are prepared and ready for the event. Please do your best (I know it's hard) not to ask questions like "Are you nervous?" or "Are you going to feel shy on stage?" but rather let them know that they are awesome and you are looking forward to see the dance that has been practiced in class. There is nothing to be nervous about because they will be totally prepared!
Hair and Make-Up on Recital Day:
All dancers should have their hair off their face. For younger dancers this doesn't have to be anything fancy, just make sure it isn't in their eyes or too fussy.
Make-up can be as simple as color on the cheeks and mascara. This is totally optional but as kids get older it is highly recommended.
If your dancer is in an advanced class they may have specific requirements for hair and make-up and they should enquire with their teacher.
Footwear on Recital Day:
Fantasy Dance - Pink Ballet Slippers & Flesh tone tights (not pink or white)
Triple Threat - Black Tap Shoes & Flesh tone tights (not pink or white)

DANCER DROP-OFF ON SHOW DAY
All dancers will be brought to our drop-off table by one guardian. The child and guardian will get wristbands with corresponding numbers. Children will be waiting backstage with their class along with their class assistants and other Royal Dance staff members. Please make sure to arrive at least 15minutes before your showtime to make sure drop-off goes smoothly.
YOU WILL TAKE YOUR DANCERS SHOES / SWEATERS / BAGS ETC WITH YOU TO YOUR SEAT SO PLEASE PREPARE YOUR CHILD ONCE YOU GET INSIDE. THERE ARE RESTROOMS IN THE LOBBY BUT WE SUGGEST ARRIVING IN COSTUME.
DANCER PICK-UP AFTER THE PERFORMANCE
Following the show, dancers must be picked up by the same guardian who dropped them off (wearing the wristband). You will pick-up in the same hallway that you dropped off.
We are so excited to be bringing back photos for our dancers. All photos will be taken DURING CLASS TIME April 20th - 26th. Please come to your regular class IN COSTUME and get ready to smile for the camera!
You will be able to view photos in an online gallery and select your favorite poses and the best package for your family to order.
We will send an email with more info in the new year!
IMPORTANT DATES TO NOTE:
All Recital Participation Forms MUST be completed by Feb 19th
NEW THIS YEAR *** Forms returned late will incur an additional $10 charge! *** We are seeing a trend of due dates being viewed as suggestions rather than actual due dates and it really bogs our team down to collect and place late orders. Thank-you for your understanding!
Payments will be due Feb 19th. If you select e-transfer or debit/cash payment please make your payment before this date! All card on file payments will be charged at this time.
