Hair & Makeup

All Ballet dancers will wear a secure high (top of crown) Ballet bun, secured with a hairnet and bobby pins.
Examples: 1 with elastics, bobby pins, and hairnet, 1 with elastics, bun "donut", bobby pins, and hairnet. Please review the videos, choose your style, and make sure you have these supplies before the June 16 Dress Rehearsal.

For Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater, and Hip Hop (unless specially noted on your costume sheet), all other dancers will wear a secure high ponytail, with lots of hairspray to keep it smooth.
-- If your dancer goes from Ballet to another dance, they will start in the Bun, and take out only the pins to leave the low ponytail in place.
-- If your dancers goes from another dance into a Ballet dance, the backstage helpers will get the ponytail into the bun, as long as you send the required pins and hairnet with your dancer.

ALL DANCERS WILL WEAR STAGE MAKEUP FOR THE SHOW, SO THEIR FEATURES ARE

For stage makeup, we recommend

light foundation or skin-colored powder
a little light to medium tone blush on the cheeks
a brown eyeshadow in the crease of the eye
a dark brown eyeliner on the top lid for ages 12 and up
some dark brown mascara on the upper lashes
a medium pink lip for ages 5 - 11, a medium red for ages 12 and up.
