School Readiness

General Information:

School Readiness Program is a state licensed and nationally accredited program for children ages from 3-5 years old. The program is partially funded by the Office of Early Childhood, family fees and grants. We are located at 17 Cottage Street.

School Readiness is a full year/full day program. Operation hours are 7:00 am-5:00pm. Tuition is generated through the family size, family income and or tax returns.

If you would like to place your child on our waiting list you would have to request for a waiting list form to be sent to you via email or snail mail sending the form back quickly. We accept waiting list forms throughout the school year. Once you have submitted your form someone will reach out to you to let you know when space will be available.

Program Quality

All School Readiness staff is committed to professional development each year. Staff must attend a minimum of twenty-two hours of professional development on a variety of Early Childhood Education topics. Moreover, all staff either meets or are working toward School Readiness credentials. Our dedication enhances our program quality.

Program quality is continually monitored. Staff, parents, and administration collect information on quality, and review the program in accordance with NAEYC accreditation, The Connecticut Office of Early Childhood, and Program Measures.

This includes children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds as well varied abilities. Together we strive to foster social, emotional, physical/health, cognitive, language/literacy, science, mathematics, social studies and intellectual growth by providing a comprehensive child development program. With encouragement and support, families are able to move towards a brighter future and achieve their life goals for their child(ren).

Philosophy:

The Danbury Public School Readiness Program is an educational setting for preschool children. It is a collaborative program of Danbury Public Schools that provides an individualized educational program based on up-to-date developmentally appropriate practice. We are also inclusive of a wide range of family lifestyles and cultural-linguistic background.
