Welcome to the internet home of King Street Intermediate!

At King Street Intermediate, we are dedicated to creating a safe and supportive learning environment for our fourth and fifth-grade students.  We believe in promoting our students' academic, emotional, and social development.   Our caring and knowledgeable teachers accomplish this by encouraging and engaging students in content to take risks, learn from their mistakes, collaborate, and thrive.  Our school values, which we call Tiger STRIPES - Safety, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Personal Best, and Empathy - are the basis for our expectations.  We state our intentions of the day with our school pledge, recognize students who embody our values with the Tiger Citizenship Award, motivate classes in the building with Tiger High-Fives, and encourage students to do and give their best in and out of the classroom.

We aim to foster communication with our families through weekly Parent Square messages in which I share our student accomplishments and opportunities parents can help volunteer at school and support their children at home.   "Coming together is a beginning.  Keeping together is progress.  Working together is a success (Henry Ford)."  If you need help, have a question, or want to share something to support your child, our classroom teachers, social worker, school psychologist, parent liaison, and I are all available to listen and help.  We encourage you to get to know our school,  programs, and resources with your visit to our internet home and future in-school opportunities, PTO events, conferences, and family engagement nights.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about King Street Intermediate.  Go Tigers!

Sincerely,

Kristina Hislop, Ed.D.
