History of King Street Campus
King Street Primary, built-in 1964 as South King Street Elementary School, enrolled area students in kindergarten through sixth grade. In 1976, the King Street Primary school joined King Street Intermediate as the King Street Campus. King Street Primary was home to students from Kindergarten to Second grade. During the 2010-2011 school year, with the closing of Mill Ridge Intermediate, all grade three students were moved to the primary schools, and King Street Intermediate students, including fourth and fifth graders from both Mill Ridge Primary and King Street Primary, under the campus model with one principal and one assistant principal. One principal led both school buildings from 2010-2019. The school enrollment continued following the district's trends, and from 2010 enrollment at 373 students to current enrollment of 390, a 4.27% increase. King Street Campus has gone through many changes yet has maintained high expectations of students and staff alike to work with a growth mindset, inclusion, respect for others, and a welcoming environment for family and community support.
