The application process:

1. Check your Y10 report to see what grades you are likely to achieve and so which courses are wise to apply for

2. If you aren't likely to achieve the grades to return (5 grade 6s, and a 5 in Maths and English Language), look at what's available at alternative schools and colleges, even if it's only as a plan B

3. Arrange another careers meeting with Ms Stein, if you feel it would be helpful

4. Read the guide to courses, and make a short list

5. Talk to your subject teachers about the course, if you are considering it. It is likely your teacher will talk to the class about A level courses in a lesson

6. Attend the Information Evening at 7pm on Thursday 7th November

7. Come to the Subject Fair at lunchtime on 14th November, and hear from the Y12s and Y13s about what it's really like to do that subject

8. Attend lunchtime taster sessions in the following weeks from Psychology, Politics and Sociology if you are considering applying for one of those subjects

9. See Ms McClean if you have any queries or concerns about the application process, her office is beside J6

10. APPLY! You have between 7th November and 19th December (12 noon) to put your application in. The form will be below between those times.

New Subject lunchtime Taster Sessions

Subjects that are 'new' to the Sixth Form have lunchtime taster sessions so that you can find out more. Other subjects are likely to talk through the A level in one of your lessons. If you would like to discuss picking up a subject that you didn't do for GCSE, but others did (such as Business, Religious Studies, Economics etc), please see a teacher from that department.
