Mrs. Stermer (ELA- Room 219)

Born and raised on Long Island in New York, I have lived in PA for 14 years. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in History from Hofstra University and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Brooklyn College. This is my 19th year teaching. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, taking hikes, camping, cooking, reading, and just celebrating life. I am thrilled to learn with you this year

Mr. Thoman (Math/Social Studies- Room 220)

I am from neighboring Spring Grove and a graduate of Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, PA. I cannot wait for the start of my fourth full year of teaching 6th grade! I have my bachelor’s degree in middle level education with a concentration in math. While not in school I like to ride my mountain bike or go to an Oriole’s game. This school year I am looking forward to meeting all of the students!

Mrs. Veiss (ELA-Room 218)

I love teaching 6th grade ELA. After graduating from York College, I earned my Masters in Reading, along with a certification as a reading specialist, from Loyola University in Maryland. I have taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grades throughout my years with Dallastown. This will be my 8th year teaching 6th grade. When I am not at school, I like to participate in activities with my husband and two daughters, Maya and Carmi. The best part about a new school year is meeting new students…and school supply shopping.

Mr.Verno (Math/Science- Room 224)

I was born in Bethlehem, PA also known as the Lehigh Valley. I received my B.S. in Education from Bloomsburg University. I am beginning my 21st year teaching 6th grade. When I’m not teaching, I am spending time with my wife and three daughters; Novalea, Irelyn and Avaleen. Our newest addition, Harley, Irelyn's service dog keeps us pretty busy! I am excited for the upcoming school year & I know you are going to LOVE 6th grade at DAIS!
