I have been a part of the Wm Travis Vanguard/Academy Staff as the 4th Grade Science Teacher for 3 years. Before I joined Travis’ staff, I taught for 17 years St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School in Richardson, TX. I am most proud of my three children: Tommy (26), graduate of University of Arkansas, Lily (24), working on her Master's at Texas Tech, and Mark (21) sophomore at Collin College. My children and I grew up in Richardson and still call it home. I attended Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State) and the University of Texas at Dallas where I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Teaching Methods.My classroom will be a place where your children will feel safe to succeed and to fail. We will support each other, encourage each other, laugh and cry with each other, but mostly respect each other’s many diverse abilities and backgrounds. I believe if students are having fun, the possibilities are endless. I am very laid back, but will hold to students to high expectations that I know they can reach and I will be there for them and for their families each and every step along the way. I look forward to the students creating lasting memories this year. I am always available to you as parents, and of course, to your awesome children

Unit Test on Matter is Wed., Oct 16th

Students have their notes, their vocab cards, 3 full lessons of practice questions, and 3 classwork quizes to study from. We will also review on Tuesday! Study!

WINSTON SCIENCE

It is a requirement in 4th grade that EVERY student participate in one science competition outside of school this year. Please log on to the following link for the Winston Science Competition with you student and choose a competition to register for. Please send in the confirmation page, or a note from you telling me what competition they are registered for.

I have gone over the website with the students and EVERYHING you need to know is on it. It runs on Nov 2nd and Nov 9th, different competitions each day. Please create, test, and redesign (Design Process)before coming to the competition. Knowing your entry works, sets them above many others at the compeition.
