Meet Your Teacher!

My name is Haley Noyes (pronounced just like the word "noise"!) I grew up in New York and I just moved here to Dallas this Summer. I would love to know your favorite places to go and things to do in Dallas! I am a first year teacher which means you will teach me just as much as I will teach you. When I'm not at school, I love spending time with my friends, visiting my family back in New York, and exploring new places. In my family, I have a mom, a dad, a younger brother, Jacob (who you can see in the picture to the left), and an older sister, Lauren. We also have a pug named Frankie (also in the picture) and a Chihuahua named Diego. I can't wait to learn more about you and your family!

I am very passionate about special education and providing the best learning opportunities possible for every child. My younger brother, Jacob, has both Down Syndrome and Autism and is the reason I pursued a career as a special education teacher. I saw the impact his incredible teachers had on him through their support and creative instruction and knew I wanted to impact my students in that same way!

I graduated from SUNY Brockport in May 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in History and a certification in Childhood and Special Education through the Childhood Inclusive Teacher program at Brockport. I was super lucky to be able to student teach at the elementary school I went to growing up with my former 3rd grade teacher. She was the teacher who inspired me to become one myself and I learned so much from her! We taught our class virtually from March until June which allowed me to gain a lot of experience using online classrooms and resources. I am continuing to learn more about virtual instruction so we can have the best experience possible this year. I am very excited for all of the learning and growing we will do together this year!

Please let me know how I can best support you through both virtual and in person instruction this school year!

What is Total Communication?

The instruction in the Autism/TC Program classrooms is based on research- and evidence-based interventions known to be effective with students with autism spectrum disorders. Interventions used throughout the daily instruction include the structured-teaching methodology, discrete trial training, applied behavioral analysis, incidental teaching, visual structure, and a predictable routine.
