Engagement & Retention
Chair: Jeana Foxman
The purpose of the Engagement & Retention Subcommittee is to develop and implement programming and curriculum relevant for school families (especially middle school families) to keep them engaged and to ensure Solar Prep for Girls is the Choice School of choice throughout enrollment (Pre-K through 8th grade).
Evaluation & Modification
Chair: Karla Contreas
The purpose of the Evaluation & Modification Subcommittee is to monitor operations and activities and to provide oversight for the Campus Improvement Plan. The members of this committee are the Chairpersons of all other committees (subcommittees), officers of the SBDM Committee and the principal. The chairperson of the Committee shall be the Vice-Chair of the SBDM Committee.
Health & Wellness
Chair: Michelle Deal
The purpose of the Health & Wellness Subcommittee is to promote a culture of physical, psychological, and emotional well-being for Solar Prep for Girls Scholars by providing activities and support that will result in positive, healthier lifestyles. The Health & Wellness subcommittee should work to ensure these activities support the greater curriculum implemented at Solar Prep for Girls.
Middle School Committee
Chair: Chalonda Mangwiro-Johnson
The purpose of the Middle School subcommittee is to support the Solar Prep admin to identify and establish systems for family communication & experiences for Solar middle school students. As well as discussing key planning of outings and experiences for 8th graders.
Operations & Logistics
Chair: Salllie Martinez
The purpose of the operations and logic subcommittee is to gather feedback and information regarding transportation, campus beautification and further operations and logistical task for the Solar Prep Campus.
Community Culture & Communication
Chair: Temeika Davis
The purpose of the Community Culture & Communication committee is to bridge cultural, diversity and economic gaps, while improving communication between Solar campus and Solar families. We also seek to improve parent and student engagement within Solar Prep school events and parent organizations.
