Have a young lady interested in meeting other STEM peers around DFW and learn from female role models this spring? The Alliance of Technology and Women has its iLead in STEM applications open. It does start next Saturday, March 28, but you can still apply. They will send out acceptance notifications later this week.
Harvard’s Girls Who Code is a weekly virtual coding program on Saturdays where middle and high school girls dive into the world of programming, guided by Harvard undergrads.
As a student in the program, you’ll get to:
Join weekly virtual classes taught by Harvard computer science students.
Design your own personal project by the end of the program.
Gain valuable, life-long skills that can benefit you, no matter what your future career looks like!
Be part of an empowering, all-girls tech community.
No coding experience needed – just an enthusiasm and interest in computer science and a willingness to learn!
The Dallas Zoo’s Volunteer Department for volunteers to help at their newest event, Illuminature!
Event Dates:
April 17 – June 28
Specific dates are listed on the sign-up form (link below). Students may volunteer for one evening or multiple evenings.
Volunteer Hours:
6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Students will meet staff at 6:00 PM in the Zoo’s Auditorium for check-in and instructions.
If a student becomes ill or cannot attend the shift they signed up for, please have them email volunteers@dallaszoo.com to let us know.
Students must be at least 16 years old to volunteer.
Volunteer Attire:
Black pants
Solid black t-shirt (if available)
Tennis shoes or hiking boots
Additional details such as parking instructions, official check-in procedures, and other event information will be sent to registered volunteers closer to the event date.

Dallas Public Library Teen Advisory Council (TAC)
TAC is dedicated to producing fun, engaging and thought-provoking programs for teens throughout the city of Dallas by using Dallas Public Library and its branches.

Would you like to help library staff prepare for library events? This selection is for volunteers who would like to help with both event preparations and the event itself. You will likely do different event/program related tasks each time you volunteer. Such as:
Assist with arts & crafts activities for story time and other children’s programming
Help staff with library after-school events
Arrange library spaces for cool events
Attend programs to help direct patrons to activities
