Student Entry
Students will be able to enter the building each morning beginning at 8 AM. The two sets of doors by the theater (3rd floor), the 2nd floor entrance by the parking lot, and the first floor door across from the gym will all open at 8:00.
To ensure student safety, it is essential that all students enter through one of these doors. Students arriving after school begins should enter through the main doors at the front of the building. Students should not open exterior doors to let someone in the building or prop open doors for any reason.
Backpacks
All bags and backpacks need to be either clear or mesh. Non-clear backpacks, duffle bags, tote bags, etc. will not be allowed. SEM will provide one clear backpack to all students. Students will be able to carry in their backpacks a pouch no larger than 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches to hold personal items, such as money and hygiene products.
ID Badges
All students are required to wear a school issued ID badge at all times. ID badges should be worn so that they are visible to all campus staff. Students will be provided one free ID badge at the beginning of the school year. Lost ID badges will need to be replaced for a $5 fee.
Beginning on September 1st, students who do not have their badge will be required to purchase a new badge for $5 when arriving to school.
If your student did not pick up their ID badge at Open House, they will be distributed in their 1st period class on Monday.
Please ensure that your student knows that any concerns about safety and security should be reported to a teacher or administrator immediately.
