What is Reading?
"Reading" is the process of looking at a series of written symbols and getting meaning from them. When we read, we use our eyes to receive written symbols (letters, punctuation marks and spaces) and we use our brain to convert them into words, sentences and paragraphs that communicate something to us.
Success has No Limits!
Through positive relationships we will provide high quality instruction to pave the pathway for academic growth for all children.

About me
My name is Irene Guardado. I was born in Michoacan, Mexico and I come from a family of 7, (father, mother, four brothers, and a sister). I have a Bachelors degree from the Universidad de Colima, (University of Colima) Mexico and a Masters degree from the University of North Texas (UNT). My teaching career started in 2003 at Mi Escuelita preschool as a Teacher’s Assistant where my love for teaching grew. In 2004, I joined D.I.S.D via the Alternative Certification Program and joined the teaching staff of the Eladio Martinez Elementary School. For 16 years, I have been teaching ESL (bilingual) for the Second, Third, and Fourth grades.
I’m married to Adam Guardado. We have been married for 20 years. And we have been blessed with three children that have brought us lots of joy, and love (Adrian 20 years, Ademari 13 years, and Ethan 11 years). We’re family that loves to explore and try different things as traveling to different countries of the world and experiencing their cuisines (which is our favorite thing to do).
