About me

My name is Jonathan Ford, and I am very pleased to be teaching at Eladio R. Martinez this year! I was born and raised in Farmers Branch, Texas.

I have enjoyed different careers; teaching in Dallas has brought me the most joy. I am an SMU alumnus, receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film from Southern Methodist University. I spent several years in the film and television business, with stints in California and just about every place in between. I have been a broadcast news journalist, serving as an affiliate correspondent for CNN and CBS. Those were fun years, but I always had this dream to follow in my father’s footsteps and become a public school teacher for the DISD.

I was able to begin that dream as an Instructional Media guru and adjunct professor for Amarillo College. 20 years ago, I became a teacher for Dallas, just like my dad!

I am pleased to be your “guide on the side.”
