DART PASS REDUCED FARE
Being downtown, we unfortunately do not have free parking available for families. A cheaper way to visit the campus is by parking at a DART station and travel to the West End stop.
From DART:
The DART GoPass® Tap Card provides a 50% discount off the public fare to all qualifying seniors, youth, persons with disabilities, and individuals who qualify based on income. The discount includes buses, rails and TRE.
You can now apply online if you qualify for a DART Reduced Fare under any criteria below. You will need to verify your identity and eligibility to receive your new Reduced Fare Card.
A written statement signed by the parent explaining the student’s absences should be received by the attendance office within 3 days of the student’s returning to school.
The statement must include the student’s name, ID number, and the date(s) of absence(s). (This signifies the parent’s knowledge and consent of the absence).
Notes should be written on letterhead of the agency visited or of the organization represented. (i.e. Court, Religious organization, Government department, Military unit, etc...)
Approvals for college visitations for Juniors and Seniors are limited to 2 days, with documentation.
An obituary is required for death in the family.
Five or more consecutive days of absences require a doctor’s note to be excused
After 6 school absence notes, additional absences will require supporting documentation and or approval by an administrator.
Extenuating circumstances with PRIOR APPROVAL from an administrator may be excused. (Appropriate documentation required and subject to limitations in FDD (LEGAL)).
The principal or appropriate designee may investigate any absence for verification.
The district is not required to excuse an absence even if the parent provides a note explaining the absence.
Una declaración escrita firmada por el padre explicando las ausencias del estudiante debe ser recibida por la oficina de asistencia dentro de los 3 días posteriores al regreso del estudiante a la escuela.
La declaración debe incluir el nombre del estudiante, el número de identificación y la(s) fecha(s) de ausencia(s). (Esto significa el conocimiento y consentimiento de los padres de la ausencia).
Las notas se deben escribirse en el membrete de la agencia visitada o de la organización representada. (Es decir, Tribunal, organización religiosa, departamento gubernamental, unidad militar, etc…)
Las aprobaciones para las visitas a la universidad para estudiantes del grado once y estudiantes del último grado están limitadas a 2 días, con documentacion.
Se requiere un obituario si asistió a un funeral.
Cinco o más días consecutivos de ausencias requieren una nota del médico para que sea excusado.
Después de 6 notas escritas a mano, las ausencias adicionales requerirán documentación de apoyo y o aprobación por parte de un administrador.
Las circunstancias atenuantes con LA APROBACIÓN PREVIA de un administrador pueden ser excusadas. (Documentación apropiada requerida y sujeta a limitaciones en FDD (LEGAL)).
El director o la persona designada adecuada puede investigar cualquier ausencia para la verificación.
El distrito no está obligado a excusar una ausencia, incluso si el padre proporciona una nota explicando la ausencia.
