How to fill it out your Weekly Grade Reflection:
Open ECampus to see your college grades. Open Powerschool to see your high school grades.
Do. Not. Guess. Your. Grades. >>Guessing does not help you.
The form will require you to put your grade percentage. If your professor only provides a number of points earned, you will need to calculate the percentage.
In some cases, this may make it look like you are failing a class, but only because you have only had a few assignments. That is something you should explain in the reflection.
Your advisors and counselor will see your grades/reflections so be honest about what you need. We will be meeting with you throughout the week to review your progress. The better you are doing, the more autonomy you will have.
One of the goals of this process is to get you to be aware of what you need to be successful. For some, that will look like more direct and structured support, for others that will look like more freedom.
We are going to be the first program to get 100% COLLEGE COURSE SUCCESS RATE
NO DROPS. NO F's.
Do you think we can collectively earn A's and B's for 85% of our college grades?
The WHY Matters
Talent is common. Discipline is rare. The combination is ELITE.
What is Advisory and why does it matter?
Advisory is the time that we will spend time intentionally supporting each other with our grades. We will start the year by focusing on college grades. Your teachers will be conferencing with you about your grades to make sure you are on-track and that you have the support you need. Your advisor (advisory teacher) is here to help! Remember, college is hard! We know you will make mistakes and grades won't always be A’s, but advisory is when we help build those habits to make sure you know how to be successful in all of your classes. Be honest with your advisor! Advisory is not a time for your to get in trouble for bad grades/mistakes. Advisory is a time to get better- 1% better today than you were yesterday!
What is First 5 and why does it matter?
First 5 is the entry routine we will follow EVERY…SINGLE….DAY. in advisory. First 5 starts the second you enter the classroom. The point of First 5 is to give you a disciplined start to advisory in order to make sure it is an effective use of time. It is also a habit that you can repeat outside of advisory. First 5 is a discipline that you can repeat anytime you sit down to work, whether it is at school or home. Greatness is a lot of small things done really well- First 5 is one of those small things that adds up! Remember, Talent+Discipline = ELITE.
