Eugenia Fernandez has been in education for nine years and has held many positions. She has been a Pre-K bilingual teacher for the last 7 years at Cigarroa Elementary where she was honored as Teacher of the Year for the 2019-2020 school year. She is currently the Chair for the Leader In Me Family Outreach Committee where she created a newsletter for parents. Thinking back to her experiences, nothing has challenged her as much as having to recreate her teaching during the pandemic.

Ms. Fernandez reinvented herself as a virtual teacher by creating a YouTube channel using interactive videos for her students. These videos have been just as beneficial while working with her students remotely, as they are for students in the classroom. Because of her excellence at maintaining rigorous lessons, Ms. Fernandez has become a Digital Ambassador and an IMPACT Vanguard member where she has had the opportunity to learn new online resources that will help her students even more. She will continue to promote digital learning in early childhood as she creates new interactive lessons throughout the year.
