Eugenia Fernandez has been in education for nine years and has held many positions. She has been a Pre-K bilingual teacher for the last 7 years at Cigarroa Elementary where she was honored as Teacher of the Year in the 2019-2020 school year. She is currently the Chair for the Leader In Me Family Outreach Committee where she created a newsletter for parents, but nothing challenged her as much as having to recreate her teaching during the pandemic.

Ms. Fernandez reinvented herself as a virtual teacher by creating a YouTube channel using interactive videos for her students. This tool has been just as beneficial as her students have returned to face-to-face classes. Because of her excellence at maintaining rigorous lessons, Ms. Fernandez has become a Digital Ambassador and an IMPACT Vanguard member where she has had the opportunity to learn new online resources that will help her students even more. She will continue to promote digital learning in early childhood as she creates new interactive lessons throughout the year.
