Hello Sudie Students, Parents, and Fellow Teammates!

My name is Mrs. Jessica Brown, and I am your SUPER SUDIE SANKOFA counselor! I provide individual, group, and classroom guidance lessons to all grade levels. I assist 6th-8th graders with elective requests, schedule changes and with high school applications! I also complete ASPs (academic success plans) every 9 weeks with 6th - 8th graders that are failing 2 or more academic classes and/or have 2 or more unexcused absences to ensure all students succeed. In addition to the responsibilities and duties described by administration, I will not only provide support services to students directly through individual and group counseling and classroom guidance, I will also indirectly assist through consultation with staff and parents. I must assume a leadership role so that each student's academic, career, personal, and social abilities are addressed. 

I attended all DISD schools, starting with Lida Hooe Elementary, Greiner Middle School, and ARTS Magnet (Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts). I graduated from UNT with a bachelor’s in education.  I taught 1st through 5th grade from 2001-2018, before I became YOUR counselor here at Sudie TAG! *Yes this is my 25th year in DISD!

This is my 8th year here, and THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE SUDIE!
