ApplyTexas can be used to apply to any public 4 year college in the state of Texas. Some private colleges are also included. Each university has a specific deadline that can be found by going to "About ApplyTexas" and then "4-year College Admissions Information." For example, UT-Austin and Texas A&M College Station have strict deadlines of Dec. 1. Other universities have later deadlines. ALL STUDENTS should apply by January 15, which is the priority deadline for financial aid.
One outstanding function of ApplyTexas is the "copy" function. AFTER one perfect application is submitted, students may hit the "copy" button to complete new applications. Some information will not be copied, but this is a true timesaver! DO NOT start multiple applications! Just do one perfect application, submit, and copy!
Some universities require essays, others do not. If essays are optional, we encourage you to complete them.
Students who meet certain criteria may send fee waivers in lieu of payment. These students have used a fee waiver for SAT and/or ACT or can demonstrate that they meet criteria for economic need. If this is you, select "fee waiver" option on the payment screen of ApplyTexas. All fee waivers must be sent via US mail.
Collegeboard- Each time a student takes SAT with a fee waiver, he/she qualifies for 4 college application fee waivers. Students may download these from their Collegeboard account, print, and send one via US mail for each application submitted. Be careful! You can only use each unique fee waiver once!
ACT Fee Waiver- Students who have taken the ACT with a fee waiver or who qualify to take the ACT with a fee waiver may receive a fee waiver for college application. A counselor or other school official must sign it to verify that you meet the criteria. This form may be used multiple times.
NACAC Fee Waiver- The NACAC Fee Waiver is another fee waiver that may be downloaded, printed, and mailed. A counselor or other school official must sign it to verify that you meet criteria. This form may be used multiple times
SAT Scores must be sent through Collegeboard. ACT Scores must be sent through the ACT platform. NO COLLEGE WILL ACCEPT PAPER COPIES. SAT or ACT scores must be submitted before a college will process your application!
ALL students on our campus, regardless of immigration status or college credits earned, should select the US Freshman Application. Students who have earned college credits may have their status changed after the university advisor evaluates their college transcript.
For applications to be processed, students must send the following documents to the office of admissions via US Mail:
Fee Waiver (if applicable)
Photocopy of Green Card, Front and Back (if applicable)
Official High School Transcript with signature and seal
Official College Transcript (if applicable)
Notarized Residency Affidavit (for undocumented students who have lived in the state of Texas for three consecutive years)
Many colleges, including Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and UT-Austin, use the ApplyTexas platform for scholarship applications. Watch deadlines within your application!
