Welcome Back! 2020 has truly been a year of the unexpected! Although it has been a year of unprecedented change, I am excited about the opportunities we have for growth and development for our students and our teachers.

Our teachers have been spending their time this summer sharpening their skills in the area of technology. Zoom, Google Classroom, Google Meets and virtual classrooms have now become a part of our new vocabulary. Our teachers are prepared to continue serving our students at a high level whether we are learning virtually or face to face.

Our top priorities this year is to ensure safety for all staff and students. We are following all district expectations regarding re-opening of schools. These efforts will lead to changes in our arrival,dismissal and parent visitation procedures. I ask that parents are flexible and understanding. Our goal is to keep everyone as safe as possible.

Secondly we will focus on preparing our students for success by meeting them where they are and moving them forward. We will need parents support as we ask our students to practice their reading, writing, and math skills at home in addition to the guided instruction that our teachers will provide.

Finally, we will focus on racial equity by enhancing our culturally relevant teaching practices. We want our children to be exposed to the numerous contributions of African Americans and Hispanic individuals in our society on a daily basis.

Our theme for this year is Stronger Together! We know that if we work together we can make magic happen everyday. Let's have an awesome school year!
