My goal for the second nine weeks is to implement systems consistently so that students can self-monitor their own data so they can make informed decisions concerning their work in my class.
By the end of the nine weeks, I will create a weekly task list with options so that students can work on their own schedule to master concepts. I will measure whether or not I have met this goal by not only creating the task lists, but monitoring and asking students for feedback on the lists. This goal is important since so many students are working remotely and have other commitments. This gives students an opportunity to become self-directed learners.
Mantra: Be accountable to yourself.
I demonstrate this to students at every class meeting. Students expect me to be well-prepared every day, so I ensure that each day's lesson is the best it can be. By modeling the work ethic to students, it is my hope that this can motivate students to hold themselves account for turning in work on time so I can provide appropriate support as needed.
