Making the Journey of Aging Less Lonely
Senior Living Project Business Plan Development — Fundraising Invitation
Initial Fundraising Goal:US$65,000
Objective: To establish a senior living center in the Dallas, Texas area that features Chinese culture and cuisine as its core elements.
Dear pastors, churches, brothers, sisters, and friends who care about Chinese seniors:
As we grow older and our physical strength gradually declines, the challenges of aging can become especially difficult when one spouse becomes physically frail. The ongoing demands of caregiving and companionship can bring not only physical exhaustion, but also bring emotional burden for the caregiver. For seniors who live alone, there may be a persistent sense of uncertainty and vulnerability that comes with facing life on their own.
For these families, an appropriate senior living and care environment is more than simply practical support for daily life—it can also provide comfort, companionship, and care for the heart and spirit.
Our goal is to develop a senior living center in the Dallas, Texas area centered around Chinese culture and cuisine, with an emphasis on familiar foods and flavors, language and communication, cultural festivals and traditions, social connection, and faith-based care.
We hope to create an environment where Chinese seniors, even as they transition into senior living, can continue to live within a familiar culture and experience a true sense of belonging while maintaining their dignity, peace of mind, and meaningful connections.
Everyone will eventually grow old, and along the way, we may experience physical frailty, the loss of a spouse, or changes in our ability to live independently. If a community can provide a comfortable, safe, and dignified living environment in the later stages of life, along with cultural, emotional, and faith-based care, it can help ease the burdens faced by seniors and their families. It can also ensure that seniors continue to experience companionship and support throughout their later years.
This is more than simply providing care; it is a tangible expression of what it means to love our neighbors.
Given Dallas CCHC’s current experience and organizational capacity, developing the Senior Living Project is a large-scale undertaking that requires careful planning, professional evaluation, and broad collaboration. Therefore, we hope to bring together the strengths of churches, professionals, and the Chinese community. Our first step is to develop a comprehensive business plan to assess market demand and financial feasibility. Based on the results of this professional evaluation, we can then responsibly determine the appropriate direction for the next stage of the project.
The most critical first step right now is to raise US$65,000 to complete the Business Plan required for the three-phase preliminary development of the Senior Living Project. This professional planning process will help us assess market demand, define the service model, evaluate financial feasibility, and determine the direction for future development. It will provide a responsible foundation for deciding whether and how to move forward with the project.

QCD (Give Qualified Charitable Distribution):
If you are age 70½ or older and hold an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), you might consider making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). This allows you to donate funds directly from your IRA to a qualified charity, such as CCHC Dallas. For supporters, a QCD offers a way to integrate faith, generosity, and financial planning, providing the following benefits:
Directly support the gospel and community care ministries of CCHC.
Qualifying QCDs generally do not need to be included in taxable income for the year (actual treatment depends on individual tax circumstances and professional advice).
If you have reached the statutory age, a QCD can also be used to satisfy all or part of your annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) requirement.
