The program allows educators to increase teacher-based lessons, accelerate students’ understanding, and delight your students by giving them the opportunity to see and hear their teacher. I mainly used VidYard in my classroom to meet IEP requirements of having texts read out loud. During Digital Learning, my class completed our book study using VidYard. In this Zoom, I will show you how to navigate VidYard, how to make videos or recordings, and how to upload them onto Google Classroom. I find VidYard useful as an educator to help my students succeed.

eNewsletters

Presenter: Rhiannon York

Audience: All

We all know those paper newsletters tend to end up in the bottom of our students’ backpacks leaving our parents uninformed and out of touch. Transitioning those newsletters to email enables you to hit parents right where they’ll see it…their smartphones. In this session, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to set up and create a weekly e-newsletter that you can send directly to parents’ inboxes, as well as their Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook feeds. For this session, we will be using MailChimp, an all-in-one integrated email service. We’ll go over how to set up a basic email template you can use each week, how to create a contact list, and how to view and read reports. During digital learning, e-newsletters were a huge part of parent communication. My co-teacher and I were able to send daily emails featuring assignments, important announcements from administration, and important dates to remember. We were able to keep them informed and updated in a way that was convenient for their schedules and ours.
